Not everyone needs a giant park with 50-metre roller coasters. Sometimes what you want is a summer evening, a few rides, children shrieking with joy rather than exhaustion, and getting back to the hotel before midnight. That is exactly what Pola Park, Santa Pola’s family amusement park, promises: a human-sized park with around twenty rides, shows and themed seasons depending on the time of year.
Who is it for?
Pola Park is designed above all for families with children aged 3 to 12. The rides range from toddler classics to livelier options for older siblings, without ever chasing extreme thrills. Its price list says it all: at the ticket office, the junior ticket is the most expensive — the adults are mostly there as escorts.
Minimum heights are posted at the entrance to each ride. For toddlers, look out for the rides they can go on with an adult.
A park that comes alive at night in summer
In summer, Pola Park mainly opens in the evening, when the heat eases — a great idea after a day at the beach. The rest of the year it opens on a varying calendar (weekends, school holidays, themed seasons such as Carnival or Easter). Always check the official calendar before promising the outing to the kids.

Tickets are valid for one day. The park states that it does not refund in bad weather, so a quick look at the forecast before buying online is a good idea.
Filling the day in Santa Pola
Since Pola Park mostly opens in the evening in summer, the day is free to explore Santa Pola, a pleasant fishing town.
The port is one of the busiest fishing harbours on the coast: in the late afternoon, the boats coming home are a show in themselves. Nearby, the 16th-century fortress, right in the town centre, houses a chapel and exhibitions.
On the edge of town, the Santa Pola salt flats, a natural park, are the kingdom of the flamingos. Hides let you see them up close, and the white mountains of salt always impress children.

Río Safari is just 4 km away on the Elche road, and Elche’s palm grove is a quarter of an hour away. For a water day, Aquópolis Torrevieja is about forty minutes south.
