Mundomar is the anti-mega-park. No need for a three-page map or a smartwatch to count your steps: you stroll between pools, aviaries and walkways on the slopes of the Serra Gelada, with Benidorm’s towers as a backdrop. Opened in 1996 by the same group as Aqualandia, it is now home to more than thirty species of mammals, birds and reptiles. It is often the day out that everyone agrees on, from grandparents to toddlers.
How a visit unfolds
The best way to see Mundomar is to plan your day around the shows. At the entrance, check the times of the dolphin, sea lion and parrot sessions, then fit your wander in between.
At the start of your visit the paths are quiet: the time to look for the shyer animals such as lemurs, otters, tortoises and toucans, and to enjoy the flamingos before the heat builds.
Around midday, get a seat early for the dolphin show. The galleon set, the leaps, the splashes (the front rows are… well placed): for most children, this is the highlight of the visit.
In the afternoon the sea lions and birds take over. Free-flying macaws and parrots always go down well, especially when they swoop just above the audience’s heads.
Animal encounters
Beyond the standard visit, the park offers paid experiences: swimming with sea lions, a dolphin encounter or a VIP tour with the keepers. They are booked separately, with age conditions and limited places, so check the official website before promising anything.
Prices and the 2026 season
Our tips
- Allow 3 to 4 hours to see everything at a relaxed pace, shows included. It makes an ideal half-day, easily combined with Levante beach or, in summer, with Aqualandia next door.
- Arrive 15 minutes before each show in high season to get a good seat in the shade.
- Protect your phone if you sit in the front row for the dolphins. You have been warned.
- Pushchairs welcome, but the park is on a slope: save some energy for the climbs.
